The Arrival

Dec.18th 2008



The four of us - Mom, Dad, Jiwon, and I - drove out of Birchwood Crescent at 4AM in the morning to head to YVR for our 8AM plane. Driving down the Heritage Mountain Ji-won attempts to justify the importance of her dress and that we should all agree to drive to our apartment to go pick it up. Fortunately we decide to just drive straight to the airport. We got there before Sunny's family did and the check-in was quick. The security, as always for planes into U.S.and.A, is extremely tedious.



We got on the plane extremely exhausted and in no time we were up in the air heading to Texas George-Fucking-Bush International Airport. I was glad that we were going to have a break in Houston because I hate plane rides. We arrived approximately 8 hours later in Cancun Mexico. I haven't had many chances to speak Spanish in awhile but I was surprised at the amount of the language I was able to recall.

It's that time of the year.

Every year we go around trying to get the most out of our used text books. Already feeling ripped off for buying over priced books, we are eager to rip other people off in return. Craigslist, TextbookExchange, and Facebook are some places we usually go to to search out those buyers and seller. Why not do all that and save the environment too? Dining Out.

December 7th, 2008: day after the two longest exam days of my life.

3 down and 2 left to go. Next Thur and Fri I have Dev.Psych and FIST exams; but the bright side is, the worst is over! Abnormal and Cognitive Psych were just unbelievable... Just hoping for good results. Today was my relaxation day and it just did not feel long enough. Slept in as much as I could and crawled out of bed around 1300, ate some lunch Ji-Won made (kimchi fried rice) and did the dishes. Camila came over and we watched TV, played wii, and before we know it it's 1730 and we are hungry. Ji-Won, Camila and I went out to Maurya Indian Cuisine on Broadway and it was great. Had Butter Chicken, Chicken Vindaloo (extra-spicy), and Jackfruit ad Potato. With my trusty 50.4, we walked into the restaurant and it was packed. Camila and I come here for Indian food but it was never so packed before. Food came late, but nevertheless, we enjoyed it. My special request or "extra-spicy please" was not a good idea for the Chicken Vindaloo. It was too spicy for me and Camila so Ji-Won did the honor. Despite the long wait for the food, we left Maurya full and happy. A short coffee stop (where we ran into Camila's FIST T.A.), a walk around Safeway, and we were heading home with some dishwasher detergent in my arms. We got home and after flipping through some channels we came across X-Men and Hole. Oddly enough, Camila and I sat though about two hours of Hole. We both had our memories from way back when read the book in elementary school hehe. Well, its been a very relaxing day and I've learned to appreciate that more this semester with so much shit to do. Can't wait until next Fri :D I'll get on with my own "review" of my new 50.4 as soon as I have some time; o far I'm enjoying my first prime very much. Don't think I'll go back to any zooms for awhile. Maybe unless I can get my hands on an L :D

Autumn Leaves

1 More exam to go... This is probably all that I could get from this fall. Haven't had time to go out and enjoy the weather or the scenery. Just happy that the end is near and hoping for good results :)

Membrane Sushi

Studied all day after class. Jiwon and Camila and I went out to I.K. Barber to get somet studying done. I worked on the exam coming up on Monday. For lunch we decided to go to the sushi place in the village. We heard that the Japanese owned sushi place on top of Mcdonald was sold to a Korean person but who would have thought that they would start serving membrane sushi. We just could not get full cus the portions got so small. The california roll was the smalles of all. We went for seconds at Vera's Burger downstairs after complaining.

Second Meal out:
For dinner we decided to go to the BBQ place on Denman (서쪽나라) and it was the worst experience every. We got served lettuce with blood on it constantly even though we told them to take it back. The meat was just disgusting. Anyway we go to pay. $35. The waitress then asks if we want change back. I just could not understand what she was saying. I was so angry for the shit service we got and this dumb bitch of a waitress asks for $5 tip on a $35 meal. Sigh......

Verdict: I wont go out to eat for the next month. It's just not worth it unless its gourmet food I guess...
